The merge day comment and the code don't match here. comm-release and comm-esr17 still exist. Are you sure this block should be removed? I see you and Rail on the blamelist for these lines. Please figure out what should be done here.

I'm working on the patch to make sure that we are really removing only what is needed.

I know that the build side is working with this WIP but I still have to adjust the test side.
