RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 772319

People

(Reporter: adverts, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0
Build ID: 20121119183901

Steps to reproduce:

FF 16.0.2 & 17.0:

Tabs prefs set to "not warn" when closing multiple tabs.

Used right-click context menu to "Close Other Tabs".

Actual results:

"Are you sure?" is prompted (not so in FF 15.0.1 & prior).

Seems that recent fix for Bug 277079 might have pacified the whiner who didn't bother to use the prompt pref to control their mousing inaccuracies, but it's created a grand nuisance for lots of us who know how to use preferences and can accurately place the cursor before clicking.

Expected results:

All tabs except the tab under the cursor should have closed WITHOUT THE "ARE YOU SURE?" PROMPT.

Please revert to the pre-Bug 277079-fix condition and educate the whiners on how to use preferences to control their behavior. Until then, since I heavily rely on "Close Other Tabs", I'll run FF 15.0.1.

Thanks.
It's already back, just set about:config > browser.tabs.warnOnCloseOtherTabs = false.
