User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0
Build ID: 20121227074833
Steps to reproduce:
I launched Thunderbird and waited for the IMAP to load emails. I clicked on various emails as listed by the Subject headers.
Actual results:
A name appeared in the directory that did not match the content. When I refreshed the list with cmd+Y, the name was duplicated, with different content for the two appearing in the message pane. When I looked at these same emails in Firefox web browser at http://webmail.gridhost.co.uk/?_refresh=1&_mbox=INBOX&_task=mail, the subject headers were correctly displayed, and the content paired up with the subject.
Expected results:
The correct Subject should appear associated with the message pane in the message. I am attaching four images:
1. The message list, with the IMAP message "Gay Star News" incorrectly displaying "HSI" message in the message pane
2. The same message after "Show remote content" button has been clicked
3. The message directory of Subject headers showing a duplicate "Gay Star News", with different content for each
4. The same message displayed as webmail in Firefox, with the same messages Subject headers correctly displaying

here you can see the other message "Gay Star News" is displaying matched content, however the HSI message is still also called "Gay Star News"

Note the messages' Subject in the directory now correctly match the content.

After File>Empty Deleted followed by File>Compact Folders was carried out, the incorrect Subjects continued to display for these two messages as identical.

Aside from the confusion caused by inaccuracy, a serious problem for me with this bug is that it has led me to delete certain messages in error. For example, a librettist sent me a revised copy of his script for my opera, that I deleted because its Subject did not match the message Body. I had to ask him to send me the document again.
