We're sending a one-off email announcing the return of Flicks and how to get involved to our Firefox & You email list.

It will be localized (so please no words in graphics if possible).

Hi, no, sorry - I can't say this is on track... it wasn't tied to the creative tracking bug for Flicks nor discussed (as far as I know) for R2 - Matt had designed a newsletter template: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=821681 that's all I had on my radar.  Can we have an extension please?

Assigning to Matt to see if he can take care of this, though I believe he is on PTO 11th, 12th, and 13th.

Hi, I've attached an example of a one off newsletter for Flicks...it follows a pretty similar look that was done for some of the other newsletters, as well as keeping close to the format of the example one that was given in the bug. Please let me know what you think.

Of course, this is Jess's area, so I defer to her. But I think the Flicks image should be at the top of the email, rather than the bottom.

I'll defer to Jess as well, but there's a logo and wordmark at the top right of the email. I consider the one at the bottom more of a design element, one that balances out the email nicely.

Hi Jessilyn,

Just want to confirm with you that for this newsletter, the styling should all remain as it is like in the PSD you passed along to me, ie the fonts and the general flow of things? Basically it should look less like the Flicks brand and more like the Firefox brand?

Thanks MT - the template and image are perfect, but the layout looks a little cramped.

I really liked the layout of the first email (using the Flicks template).

Can you try the copy layout from v1 in v2's template/image?

Hi Jessilyn, I've attached a 3rd version which is a blend of the first two versions...making use of the general layout of the 1st version, but utilizing fonts and colours from the 2nd.

Hi MT,

Thanks for this. It's looking better, but still needs some work - it's too long for a one-off email and we want to be sure the main button is above the "email fold" (ie people won't have to scroll down to see the button to click)

Do you mind trying these edits:

1) Make the title "Red carpets. Celebrity judges. Worldwide fame." a smaller font, align center, move it a little closer to the top of the white space, and see if you can fit "Red carpets. Celebrity judges." on one line and "Worldwide fame." on the line below it.

2) Center the "all this..." section

3) 3rd section - cut everything after "Firefox Flicks is our global video...can do." Change text font to Georgia

4) Move the "Go to Firefox Flicks now" button above the 3rd text section.

5) Move the Flicks image to the bottom

6) Change "Find out how you can get involved....:" to "Here's how you can help:"

7) Change bullet point font to Georgia

8) Take out the PS and make a 4th bullet that says "Help us spread the word about Firefox Flicks on your social networks like <a>Facebook</a> and <a>Twitter</a>."


I know this is changing things up quite a bit. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for your help.

And one potential edit: What do you think about making sure "year's" is on the same line with "All this and more awaits..." and "Firefox Flicks" is on the 2nd line?

V5 looks good. 

Two comments: 
- think a parenthesis is missing from the first bullet. 
- is there a reason there isn't anything highlighted in blue in what i think is the third bullet as the rest of the bullets all have something highlighted?

Kristin, I've added the parenthesis to the first bullet, it was accidentally cut off. As for the link, I wasn't seeing any in the copy deck, maybe this is something we can add during the build if necessary?
