Hi Cazey, are you going to release new WF, apart of the attached in bug 838051? I am working with Francisco, Jose Manuel and Ayman in the definition, aceptance criteria of the US which is very poor right now. According to the time scheduled we will make a proposal to product guys and we will generate the corresponding WF. We will do the same for hotmail import.
We will include in those bugs or US all that info, I hope it helps :)
Regards
I've been talking to Peter about the Gmail and Hotmail user stories. We have agreed on the features that must be implemented for V1.1. What we have agreed in the Gmail and Hotmail import User Stories is:

  - Only import is in scope: No export or no synchronization is handled.
  - Linking contacts for Gmail or Hotmail is out of scope too.

The flow that will be implemented would be something similar to (for Gmail only)

  - In contact settings or during FTE, user could select the option to import contacts from Gmail.
  - He is presented with a list of Gmail contacts, he can select some of them to be imported.
  - After a successful import, these contacts look like contacts created manually by the user (e.g. There is no visual distinction) and the user can modify the details or delete those contacts from the device (similar to what happens with SIM import) but nothing will be sent back to Gmail.
  - After a successful import, the user can select to add more contacts from "Contacts -> Settings -> Add more Gmail Contacts". When that happends the user is presented with the list of Gmail contacts, those that have been previously added are "disabled" or at least an indication is shown in order to let the user know those have been already added to the device address book.

Hi Ayman-
We assigned this bug to Neo, our UX team member in Taipei. Lets make sure we're not doing duplicate work- did I miss something where the team decided for you to take this on instead?

Also- Casey did some related work on this already here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=838054 for FTE import of additional email accounts.

So- lets first clarify who the UX owner is of this and then second, make sure that we're being consistent.

Perhaps we can review this at tomorrow's meeting?

Thanks!
Jaime

We agreed with Mozilla Product Team and Engineering team we will be dealing with this functionality. Sorry we did not assign this to Ayman. Let us know if you disagree with this as if that is the case there is no point we invest development resources in this User Story.
Daniel-
There has been an email thread called "Next Steps" in which we are discussing this exact topic. I will follow up internally to make sure Moz is on the same page when it comes to UX process.

We talked with Ricardo, Ayman and Rafael last week about UX ownership for V1.1 and came to a way that we can work together moving forward. Since we talked to Ayman on Thursday and he did not bring up needing to own this bug, that is why I suggested that we follow up with him about it on Tuesday.

It is not that I disagree, it is that I would like to clarify so that we do not do duplicate work (as I stated in my previous comment).

I'll catch up with Ayman tomorrow and will follow up then.
Thanks!
Jaime

is this task done? Or are you planning to add more stuff?

Cheers,
