this is not really a bug. It is one of the feature I hope we can add in the 
future.
A lot of time I received duplicate copy of mail. For example, if I am on 
mailling list a and some one send a meil to a and cc my account, I will receive 
two copy. It will be nice if mozilla have a power user feature call "remove 
duplicate mail" menu item, and when user select it, it will exam the mailbox and 
removed duplicate message if their message ID (and maybe more condiction) are 
the same.
I think this is a duplicate.
