Can you advise on these legacy contribute pages?

I would suggest that we redirect /contribute/index.html to the main /contribute page.

I think all this content accounted for on the newer pages.

Once that's done I can simply delete the thanks and timeavailable pages.

Sound OK.. any reason not to do the above?

Sounds good to me to redirect /contribute/index.html

The thanks.html and timeavailable.html pages are still being linked to from the live /contribute/local pages.

* thanks.html is linked from the side nav

* timeavailable.html is what people see after submitting the Want to help? form

Once we migrate those local maps, I'd be fine removing those two pages.

Ok added the migration of maps as the pre-req for this. Once that's done we have a plan to complete the migration.

Jenn - I think you are 100% correct. With the migration of those old pages (/contribute/local/northamerica.html), these pages are no longer linked too. We can move forward with removing them.

Of the files left in /contribute/ in SVN, it is now only these three that aren't already redirected to a new location:

These two could probably just redirect to /contribute/?

Not sure about this one.

All of the other region-specific files have been nicely redirected to the (beautiful) new contact/spaces pages.

If we can sort out these last three files, I'll wait and remove them all at once. If that will take longer, I can remove everything else that's already redirected and come back to these three later.

These should be deleted. They are no longer used / outdated and I do not think we need to redirect them.

I'll have to punt to Jenn on the north pole questions - I do not know if these still exist or if this was an easter egg :)

Yes, the North Pole page was an easter egg for people who clicked North on the Europe and North America map pages.  Fine to delete -- although it is always somewhat sad to lose an easter egg :)
