Once we make the move to Persona, people will sign up/in with their email-addresses. Since we can't show that, we should display the username everywhere. 

For people who have signed up before persona, we'd fall back on their previous username as the display name. For Persona sign-ups we have to ask for a display name as a mandatory step.

Hmm, we really need a username for many things. I think all we want to ask persona users is for a username when signing in.

Currently, the username chosen when registering is filtered (no offending content) while the display name editable at any time isn't. You have the risk to see f***-firefox and other things like that more often. See https://support.mozilla.org/forums/contributors/707251

Ricky, that would be a good question to ask UX. How do people know whether to use their email address or their username to sign up. They can't use their username to signup anymore, right?

Scoobi, can you file a new bug for that issue? That seems like a different problem.

What about kbforum display names? Discussion forums now use the display name but the individual KB article discussions still show the username - see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/all/discussions
