bug 903654 comment 11 contains a promise that we'll provide a better story for developers to test manifest processing changes. Devs switched their manifest parser in bug 897559. However, they were unaware of any way to test except by committing and waiting for a build. Due to bug 904976, the change appeared to work, and the issue was not detected for several days.

this should be part of B2G build documentation.

This is tested by generating a successful build, but can optionally be tested explicitly with |./build.sh source.xml|. The issue here is that the developers had no way to test the output of the build's sources.xml file against the Releng manifest munging. Please make the Releng munger available to developers to test with.
