Build ID: 2001-07-12-17 (trunk). But I've noticed this for a while (a week or so). Summary: Navigation content missing from top of Polo.com Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load http://www.polo.com Expected Results: Men/Women/Children/Gifts/Fragrance/Runway/Ask Ralph/Assistance all appear at the top of the page, to the right of the Ralph Lauren/Polo header image. Actual Results: Men/Women/Children buttons are all missing, and there is an additional strip of blank spacing in between the two main navigation areas. Will attach screenshots.
I see the same problem in linux build 20010710.
Bob, I'll let you resolve this correctly, but they've changed their page, and this now worksforme with build 2001-07-21-08 on Windows 2000.
stephend, thanks for the heads up. looks like they use *lots* of images and dreamweaver and have at least upgraded findObj to version 4. The mouseovers work fine. The pages *almost* display identically for me in IE5.5 and Mozilla including the fact they have a broken image (second from right in page body) on the home page The exception is the search box at the top right. It is an absolutely positioned DIV that contains a form then nested tables. The "search" image appears farther to the right in Mozilla than in IE. The search text box wraps in a TD Cell and overlaps the content below it in Mozilla but not IE. They generate the search text input element via a document.write that is 15 characters wide in IE but only 10 in other browsers. They may have been trying to work around this wrapping problem. This problem is exhibited on other pages as well. They do have some script that appears before the beginning <html> tag however. Running the page through validator.w3.org shows some potential problems such as style tags in wrong places (#MetaAltTag which could have been placed as an inline style attribute), missing </a> tags in places, etc. Running the page through HTML Tidy doesn't automatically fix the problem. I say they still need some evangelizing on valid HTML. Contact info: CustomerSupport@polocs.com
