Description:
An app can be removed from a collection if the user adds the app to the Homescreen from within a collection or Everything.me search and then adds it to a collection. This occurs with default collections and custom collections. The Buzzfeed app will be used as an example in the repro steps.
Repro Steps:
1) Update Buri to Build ID: 20131004040203
2) On the Homescreen, type "Buzzfeed" into the search bar
3) Long tap the Buzzfeed icon and add it to the Homescreen
4) Navigate back to the Homescreen
5) Long tap the Buzzfeed icon and then drag and drop it into a collection
6) Long tap the Buzzfeed icon and remove it from the Homescreen
7) Enter the collection you dropped the Buzzfeed app into
Actual:
Buzzfeed app was removed from the collection when it was removed from the Homescreen.
Expected:
Buzzfeed app remains in the collection when it is removed from the Homescreen.

I'm not sure this is a bug. The app you dragged into the collection was deleted, which removes a reference to the app - which the collection followed. I'll let Ran comment here on what he thinks, but I think the behavior here is expected.

This is by design.
If an app is removed from the device, it can no longer be launched and hence will not appear inside collections.
However, when removing a bookmark from the homescreen it will still be launch-able from collections it appears in, so it makes sense to not remove it.

Jason is correct.
Installed apps and bookmarks are treated the equally - when removed from homescreen, references in Collections are removed as well.

Sounds like this is invalid then.

To clarify all icons are links/shortcuts in collections so it is invalid as you say, thanks

Except for (cloud) apps that were 'added to top of collection'. This is handled in bug #923700.
