We're going to need a 2.6.2 release, for at least two reasons:

* Thunderbird 24.1 (no typo) is being released, Linux users will need a compatible version as bug 927073 is not fixed yet

* Google CalDAV bug 930132, related to webdav-sync.

Ah this will actually have to be 2.6.3 and might need to wait 6 weeks. Thunderbird 24.1.0 has been built, which builds Lightning 2.6.2.

So there will be one release without code changes called 2.6.2 and another one with the caldav changes and anything else that comes up called 2.6.3.

If we want to release 2.6.3 beforehand, then we need to spin our own or hope for a 24.1.1.

If it's compatible with TB 24.0, I'll be happy with that. :-)
Just to be sure I got you right: there is a confirmed, serious bug about the CalDav access, you already know what to change, but want to wait for a fix for another six weeks?
Ken, unless I am mistaking it will NOT be compatible with 24.0, but instead with 24.2.

Nico, yes, unfortunately thats how it is. "Serious" is debatable, as there are workarounds and its specific to one caldav server. We are bound to the release schedule of Thunderbird, so creating an intermediate release is a matter of a lot of extra work (do our own builds, repackaging, etc). I might be able to just repackage the 2.6.2 builds, but first of all I'd like to actually patch the caldav issue and re-decide.
patched my MAC version 2.6.1 per 933005 and 930132 and installed on my TB 24.0 and it seems to work. Thanks for all the hard work!
Note there will be a Thunderbird 24.1.1 release, so we will need to use 2.6.3 for that. I will probably put in the two bugs manually after the build as they are not on the relbranch, so we might need to either retag it or just live with it.
2.6.3 is released. I will open a new bug for 2.6.4 *sigh*.
