Details

Hi!
It would be very useful, if the mail-client would check all(!) subscribed
folders for new messages, not only the Inbox-Folder.
Thanks

Reporter: could you please be more specific as to what problem/undesireable
behavior you are seeing?

Please read the bug reporting guidelines at:
http://www.mozilla.org/quality/bug-writing-guidelines.html
Problem: I'm using Mozilla 0.9.3 [Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US;
rv:0.9.3) Gecko/20010801] to check my IMAP(S)-Mailbox. The mails get sorted (on
the server!) in several mail-folders (on the server, too). Some stay in the
INBOX-folder, some are moved to another one. Now I have the following problem:
If I click on "Get MSG" in the Mail-Client, it only checks the INBOX-Folder for
new messages. So I don't see that there are new messages in other folders. If I
click on that folder in the tree on the left, Mozilla checks for new messages in
that folder and indicates the new messages (it shows the number of new messages
in brakets; for example: test-folder(3) )
So, if I want to check ALL folders for new messages, I have to click on every(!)
folder (because only the INBOX-folder is checked).
This is a problem for me too; I use procmail [at mail delivery location] to
filter [some of] my incoming mail into multiple mailboxes which I then
access via IMAP.
Currently, I've no way of knowing [via mozilla] that new mail has arrived
in any of these mailboxes. New mail in my inbox I can see, since mozilla
is checking for it.

As the submitter says, mozilla really should reguarly check all
subscribed mailboxes for new mail.
I agree that this is important functionality. Most IMAP clients I'm familiar
with (at least mutt, pine and mulberry) have this feature and it's a major
roadblock for me being able to use Mozilla for reading my mail regularly. I need
to be able to tell when new mail has arrived in any of my incoming mailboxes --
not just the inbox.
Yes, this feature is important.
