This seems identical to the symptoms in bug 594732 see attachment.
Unread and totals count on the left and no messages appear.
Note:I'm only seeing this on my Win7 system (Aero Theme)
On Winxp the status bar displays normally, so looks like it's theme related.

Backing up to tb nightly 20131026030205 The statusbar looks fine.

Possible culprits bug 224436
OK restarted in safe mode..problem gone.

Disabled addons 1 at a time.
The problem appears to be Lightning3.0a1

Let's see if I have the wrong rev for trunk
That appears to be the correct lightning version for trunk according to:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Calendar/Calendar_Versions?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Calendar%2FCalendar_Versions

So maybe this is actually a Lightning bug. (not the ones that flash in the summer night):)
Could you try the patch from Bug 931492? If it is resolved with this patch this bug is a dupe of bug 931492.
Summary: No Statusbar messages in current trunk → No Statusbar messages in current trunk with Lightning installed

I imported the patch from bug 931492 and built with it.
It did _not_ appear to fix what I am seeing here.

But I'll wait for the final checkin in that bug to see what happens.
Linux too.
OS: Windows 7 → All
Hardware: x86_64 → All
I'm seeing this, having updated from 11-01 to 11-19 dailyi.
no lightning installed.

I disabled gecho profiler addon which puts stuff in far right of status bar, opened a new 3pane window, and it cleared up.

conclusion, more is affected than calendar
Hi folks,

For what it's worth, I see it on my setup on Mac OS X 10.6.8 and EarlyBird 27.0.a2 and Lightning 2.9a2. The issue I see is that when I click on 'Get Messages' or 'Compress', I do not see the sliding bar display that shows how much of the action is done. With lightning disabled, I see the display.

Let me know if anyone needs more info to fix this issue.

Thanks

Ciao

I'm going to keep this open because addons other than lightning may have the same symptom.
But on current trunk this is wfm for lightning, but only after a fresh download and reinstall of lightning.

This is supposed to be fixed with Lightning Bug 931492. Please retest with recent nightly builds.
Hi Stefan,

I'm using Lightning 2.9. I don't see a nightly for this. Can you point it out so that I can try?

Thanks

calendar versions can be found here:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Calendar/Calendar_Versions

I did have to de-install lighting and reinstall a current version for this to go away

The original problem I was seeing is now wfm
It's just unclear to me why a deinstall of lightning, a new download and reinstall of lightning was required.

I am running current trunk TB
Because the problem was caused by a bug in Lightning. Therefore you had to install a Lightning nightly build that contains the bug fix.

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for the pointer. I had to download the Daily version 28.0a1 in order to use the nightly build of lightning 3.0a1.
