Please see bug 91594 for the history of this bug... Per Candice's comment in bug 91594 ' Please file another bug for the error checking - "expect some kind of error message popping up to let user know this is a corrupted address book?". I don't know if I can tell it's a corrupted address book at that point, but we should be able to have an error popup for not being able to access this specific address book. '

There is already a dialog implemented for checking for corrupt address books (and now locked ones as well). see http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/mailnews/addrbook/src/nsAddrDatabase.cpp#659 Closing as WFM.
