[CVS build from 2001-08-09-18] There should be a context menu for the home and bookmarks items on the personal toolbar. It could enable the user to hide these buttons from there instead of having to enter the preferences.
Home could also have "Set home page...", which opens a dialog asking for a new home page address, pre-filled with the current page's address.

There should also be a hide option for all default bookmarks - and doing so should also hide the separator between Home and Bookmarks.
I want a Home button in the Navigation-Bar as well. Every single browser I know has it there. Not because it was always there, but because this is exactly where it belongs! I have now use for the personal bar at all. It just wastes space. I have all important links an my local startpage. Therefore I need a oneclick-way to this page. Not a Go/Home or a Alt/Home -> just a click. And about the 'there is no space issue': Let's get rid of the Go-, Search- and Print-Buttons. For me this is a serious bug, because it's hard to use this browser at all without a quick access to Home. But it seems noone is willing to change this in the near future. Until then I'll stay with Netscape 4.79. It's fast and lean and unfortunately a little bit unstable *ggg* ....
mull333, don't spam this bug with unrelated bugs. Search for that bug in bugzilla, and if you can't find it then report it as an enhancement request.
Just for the record, that is bug 89350.
BTW - mull333: as a quick fix, you can add your home page to the bookmarks.

Absolutely not a duplicate. That bug is about rearranging the toolbars and such, and this is specifically about what should happen when you right-click on these items.

That bug requests the ability to add and remove any toolbar button, probably through a context menu. This bug requests the ability to add and remove *two specific toolbar buttons* through a context menu. Please explain again why this is not a dupe.
To add/remove these buttons was just one suggestion of the context menu. Comment #1 describes another use, and there are probably plenty others.
Bug 15144, though similiar, is not a dupe of this one. A bug should not be marked as a dupe of another bug if it is similiar but not identical. If the other bug is so general that it somewhere covers the aspect of another bug through, say, a series of comments - then those issues should be broken off if they don't exist or mentioned as existing in a certain bug. Remember: One issue per bug. This bug isn't identical to bug 15144 and should either be marked WONTFIX, INVALID or should be accepted by a developer or nobody@mozilla.org.
FYI: There are now contextmenus on PT items - except the home button, which I think should be treated as a regular PT-link when it comes to context-menus.
Reassigning obsolete bugs to their respective Seamonkey owners (i.e. nobody). If you want this fixed for Firefox, change the Product and Component accordingly and reassign back to me.
