This bug exists in order to make sure we have a way in order to collect simple usage data like most frequently spoken to buddies. This of course naturally extends to jump lists.

Bug 954171 (bio 737) is tracking extended jump list support now.
Bug 954054 (bio 618) only covers only already feasible goals now.

Retitling this to reflect the most immediate use case (though there may be others, e.g. an automatic "Favourites" tag). Related to bug 954667 (bio 1235).

If this data is collected, one would also have to provide a way to clear this data (cf bug 953840 (bio 399)).
