From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.3+) Gecko/20010817 BuildID: 2001082012 Sometimes the bugzilla login page takes a long time to load. If I press stop before it's finished, my password is not filled in by password manager. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Do something which requires login to mozilla. 2. Press stop button before the login page fully loads. Actual Results: Nothing. Expected Results: Should fill in the form. This used to happen when I pressed stop.

That is correct. See bug 69039. Unfortunately we can't have it both ways.

Reopening. This is a perfectly valid suggestion. At most, it's wontfix. I don't think it's either. The bug cited as reason is only about the "select user" dialog box. There is no reason to disable a single username/password combination. Also, there could be a menu item similar to Prefill Form, or even a button in the page next to the submit button, which allows to fill out the the password in such situations. This would be esp. important for pages, which takes ages to load (as in 1 minute) "completely", because some images from another server time out.

So you are saying that if the user aborts page loading and there is a single login saved for that page it should get filled in. But if there is more than one saved login then no prefill occurs. That inconsistent. Marking as wont-fix.

There has to be a way around this. If nothing else, maybe a (hidden) pref could be added to let the user choose which behaviour to implement. Personally, I'm willing to put up with bug 69039 rather than lose the autofill. This is especially irritating if pages *do* take a long time to load (eg over dial-up, or as has been pointed out, images from a server that timeout).

Esp. important when the user relies on Mozilla to remember the password. He'd have to lookup the passwort in his database then - time-intensive.

Better inconsistent in some edge-cases than annoying IMHO.
