Appreciate your patience,

I was able to create an instance using us-west-2 with a unique ip.

Once you have vpn access (bug 966179), you should be good to go.

Oh sorry, by my comment I meant that I have the slave now. I was not done using it. I'll actually need it back again.

Ok the instance is recreated, I'm (pretty) sure IT will need to re-set the LDAP bit for this host, and then you'll need to reconnect to VPN.

/me goes to ask IT to complete sooner than normal on this
