I took another look at this, there were a few small problems in the tests, however there is a bug in the datastore api filed @ https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=977885 which is gonna make this impossible to test

Test found another bug with a race condition writing to the datastore api, this has been a pretty valuable test :) https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=963038 has been filed and is being worked on to fix the datastore api I did a 50 run on travis, this should be stable now - https://travis-ci.org/mozilla-b2g/gaia/builds/19793722
