Regardless of which string is used, I believe majority of these "confusing" preference issues would be solved if we use proper android:summary text for preferences which may deem to need them. See bug 965377. See also bug 970743 and bug 978825 where we already have patches landed to add android:summary to recently added preference additions

Thinking about this again, why not simply just call it "Fullscreen mode"? That way you get parity between the handheld and desktop device experiences.
