This must wait on Treeherder client 1.6 being deployed in production before we can land bug 1186420 in production. Production autophone is currently running in a branch with bug 1186420  reverted.

Ed, do you know when the Treeherder will deploy the new TreeherderAuth, and TreeherderJobCollection without the job_type argument to production?

Treeherder master has just been deployed to production. It includes the job_type arg changes as well as everything else, but note that bug 1185520 was backed out (though think this is separate to the change you're referring to in comment 2).

My current master is using

auth = TreeherderAuth(key, secret, project)
client = TreeherderClient(protocol=protocol, host=host, auth=auth)

Is this supported on the current production?

Yeah those changes were made by bug 1183575, which was not backed out & is now on prod.
