Steps to reproduce:
Preferences → Content → Fonts & Colors → Advanced with these settings:
Proportional: Sans Serif
Serif: serif
Sans-serif: sans-serif
Monospace: monospace
[✓] Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selection
above
Open a plain text file in Firefox, e.g. [1,2]. It is rendered in
proportional font. The font used can be chosen with the "Sans-serif"
setting above.
With
[ ] Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selection
above
instead, the font used can be chosen with the "Monospace" setting
above.
