Created attachment 8600696 [details] Majordomo results.eml In the attached mail, if you select the "subscribe postfix-users email@example.com" text and press shift+click on reply (for plain text reply), then in the compose window opened, the space between "postfix-users" and "firstname.lastname@example.org" is gone.
Note that there is a duplicate report: 1167926 – Copy-pasted text with moz-txt-link-abbreviated link omits preceding space, breaks mailinglist-confirmation https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1167926
Reproducible with TB 42.0a1 (2015-08-09) Possibly related to "Bug 1193153 - Copy paste steals multiple spaces (blanks)" @reporter: Does that problem also happen in an account where you use only plain text? with such a test we can find out whether this is a html-plain text problem or a general one.
Additional info: a) Because of "Bug 684924 - Cannot drag and drop .eml file from Windows folder into email client folder" I did not test with SeaMonkey.
This reproduces in version 38?
Please ignore the previous three comments. They are mostly wrong. I've been such a fool when testing it: You need to <SHIFT> reply!! I've tried the oldest TB I have installed here, 3.1. This shows the bug. So it's really noting new at all here.
(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk, use Needinfo for questions) from comment #5) > This reproduces in version 38? No idea why my bug 1167926 was duped to this, as the STR are different and the bug isn't showing in the Compose-window, but only in the sent mail. Will retest again later with a more recent version.

(In reply to dE from comment #0) To bug opener: Comment #0 is phenomeno in which Thunderbird version? Note: Version: field of initil 31 was changed to 3.1 by email@example.com on 2015-08-11. (See History of this bug)
38.1.0 as of the current time.
