User Story

As a desktop client user I want the contact list to look polished.

The UX for this visual refresh of the contact list (panel) is described in bug 1130074.

Please note that the following are not part of the scope of this bug even if the UX document describes it:
- Tile view of the contact list (please only consider the UX where contacts are represented on single lines)
- Ability to favorite contacts on contact hover
- Ability to filter the contact list by favorites
- Availability indicator on contact list
- Menu button
- + button on contact hover


Acceptance criteria:
- Search bar visual refresh
- "Import" and "Add new contact" button layout refresh
- Contact list visual refresh
- "Add a contact" form visual refresh

Sevaan, since we won't do "Merge calls and rooms" with this bug we need clarification on how the contextual menu to initiate a direct call will be exposed - will it be through the "+" button or should we keep the camera icon?

I thought RT aid we were removing it from scope since we don't have that feature enabled. If it's easy to do though, I'd like to leave it in.

There is a separate bug for that: bug 1179204 We should keep this separate for now and prioritize visual refresh over these small features related to visual refresh. So please let's keep this out for now unless it makes it a lot simpler to address it now. Otherwise bug 1179204 will be part of the to do list in the upcoming planning meetings so won't be forgotten. For clarity I created bugs with [user story] in the bug name for such features showing-up in the designs that are not part of the scope of what we consider visual refresh - these features will be addressed once visual refresh is complete unless it makes more sense to address them during visual refresh: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/showdependencytree.cgi?id=1179163&hide_resolved=1
Please, see that I have updated the conversation mockups with fixed height of the panels, and how the contacts list looks like when scrolled. Thanks!

The Panel UI has been updated covering this scenario. The mockup can be found in the main panel UI file. Find the orange avatar in the assets folder > Panel UI > user_thumbs > user_thumb_01.svg.
