just opened the BMO url in a tab. immediately appeared as attached (not scrolled). Perhaps related to bug 1298624. But unlike bug 1298624, in this startup, I have layers.acceleration.force-enabled set to false (it was set to true in an earlier attempt to work around accessibility being enabled in firefox)
Nightly build. this been happening for a few hours.

It would help to have more information. Could you please tell us:
* steps to reproduce
* Graphics section of about:support
* what platform you are on

per comment 0. I have nothing more specific. The page just comes up wrong, no scrolling needed. Happened on multiple pages - displays wrong on first rendering. Have more screen shots if that's helpful.

win7 64bit. Firefox 64bit
I rebooted my OS and haven't seen this for almost two days. But it might not actually be gone, in which case perhaps related to bug Bug 1295075

Hmm, Skia is not being used here at all from the info, so this is unrelated to the recent Skia deployment on unaccelerated Windows.
It is using D2D. Bas, ideas?

Can you also please try with a clean profile? There are a lot of add ons there. Thanks!

Not to mention several 'force-enabled' prefs related to graphics, I suspect those..

Good idea, wish I had thought of it at the time. Right now I'm not currently able to reproduce. If it happens again maybe I will give it a shot before attempting a reboot.

Are you referring to these?
gfx.crash-guard.glcontext.gfx.driver-init.webgl-angle-force-d3d11: false
gfx.crash-guard.glcontext.gfx.driver-init.webgl-angle-force-warp: false
layers.acceleration.force-enabled: true
Are there others?
(I think those have not changed in ages.)

In the last two days I have not seen distorsion. But I have seen minor issues, like some BMO queries sometimes finish with a small white box in the space where the animated graphic had been displaying
I've now changed
layers.acceleration.force-enabled > false
layers.acceleration.disabled > false
gfx.direct2d.disabled > false
(not sure if there are others? will see what happens)
graphics in troubleshooting now shows

This may be related to what I've observed for the last several days. It seems to happen after scrolling. I have attached two screenshots (before scrolling and after).
Switching to a different tab and returning to the tab with the problem repaints the problematic tab correctly.

Any particular reason you're disabling hardware acceleration? Does this still happen with hardware acceleration enabled?
Also, if you go to about:config, change the pref "gfx.content.azure.backends" to "cairo", restart nightly, does it still happen?

Sorry, I had to punt and disable HWA. Losing too much productivity and not enough time available to do diagnosis.

Roman, the patch landed on Sept 13. Does sept 14 or newer build help you?
