STR:
1. Enable "Show blank page" in New Tab
2. Restart Mozilla Firefox
3. Open New Tab
4. Enjoy some odd animations artifacts, like hiding menu animation will be launched

The problem is regardless of e10s on/off and regardless of new tab setting.

STR
1. Start with new profile
2. Restart browser so that only about:home tab is opened
3. Click [+] button to open a New Tab

Yes,
now, it's more visible per implanting Highlights and Snippets,
not to mention also Search and Top Sites.

I can still reproduce. the problem on Nightly57.0a1(2017-09-14 Build ID 20170914100122)

STR
1. Turn off all checkbox from gear icon of about:home tab. And restart browser if any.
2. Click on Home toolbutton or Middle click on Home toolbutton or Reload(F5) about:home tab

This happened to be tested between bug 1398819 and bug 1399696. The page should load blank without animation artifacts since bug 1399696.

I'm confirming that this bug is fixed by patch from bug #1399696 with default Firefox settings.
Follow up is being tracked in bug #1432769.
