From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0+) Gecko/20020505 BuildID: 20020505011 After opening a second mail window for newsgroup work, news/mail (CC'd from news submission) sent from the either window complains about an invalid config and can't be sent. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Mozilla mail 2.Open 2nd mail window from newsgroup 3.Try and post to newsgroup from 2nd window Actual Results: Dialog box with title ... Send Message Error Contents ... Please verify that your Mail & newsgroup settings are correct and try again Expected Results: Send the news item and email I was able to do this in an earlier rev of Mozilla ( I think it was 9.8)

Yes, I have seen this as well in: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0rc2) Gecko/20020515 Debian/1.0rc2-2

Confirming on build 2002072508 running on SuSE 8.0. Here is how I reproduced the problem. 1) Launched Mozilla Mail. 2) Double-clicked on a newsgroup post to which I wanted to respond. This opened a mail window. 3) Clicked on the 'Reply' icon, thus opening a second mail window. 4) Entered my response in the second mail window, and clicked on the 'Send' icon. 5) Received the error message "Sending of message failed. Please verify that your Mail & Newsgrups account settings are correct and try again." Here is the workaround: 1) Launch Mozilla Mail. 2) Highlight the newsgroup post to which you wish to respond, but do not double-click it. 3) Right-click the newsgroup post to which you wish to respond, and choose 'Repy to Newsgroup'. 4) 'Reply to Newsgroup' opens a mail window. This is the only mail window open. 5) Enter your reponse and click on the 'Reply' icon. This bug is related to bug 146145, bug 137009, and bug 150823.

Forgot to mention that this bug appears to be unique to running Mozilla on a Linux environment. I have never experienced this problem when running Mozilla on Win 2K.

I originally had it in the Suite as far as I recall. I don't use newsgroups any more, and I can't reproduce this on Thunderbird 2 using multiple mail windows.
