Please add the following pieces of information to this bug:

  • Is this expected to stay on or is this a limited duration experiment?
  • What's the status of test failures with WR/macOS on treeherder?
  • How was the set of GPUs that are being enabled chosen?
Flags: needinfo?(jmuizelaar)
  • This is currently a limited duration experiment to get a picture of how WebRender looks on Mac on nightly
  • There are currently some test failures with WebRender turned on on Mac but they are all relatively minor and there are patches up (or in progress) to fix them
  • The set of GPUs covered is the same as our Intel rollout on other platforms. These were chosen because it's the largest set of GPUs it was simple and we don't actually care that much about which GPU we're running on.

And, importantly, they don't fail on treeherder at the moment because treeherder jobs ignore the rollout and just have a per-job "is wr on" setting, which is not affected by this patch.
