Mentioned elsewhere but I feel like re-joining is going to be difficult to implement well, and more importantly I'm not sure if studies will want that. Will revisit.

Mentioned elsewhere but I feel like re-joining is going to be difficult to implement well, and more importantly I'm not sure if studies will want that. Will revisit.

Sounds like we definitely want re-joining eventually. We'll control this sort of thing via Remote Settings, so I'll make sure the schema defines a place for this even if we don't quite know what about:pioneer will do with it yet.

• User impact if declined: As a Pioneer user, I want to see the studies I've left early, so that I can keep track of my participation. If a user isn't allowed to rejoin a study they inadvertently left early, participation in the program will decline, resulting in poor recruitment for a study.
• Is this code covered by automated tests?: Yes
• Has the fix been verified in Nightly?: Yes
• Needs manual test from QE?: Yes
• If yes, steps to reproduce: As a Pioneer user, join a study from about:pioneer.
  Leave a study.
  User should be able to successfully rejoin a study.

• Risk to taking this patch: Low
• Why is the change risky/not risky? (and alternatives if risky): The about:pioneer page is not advertised to users in any way; there is no marketing support for Fx80; this is foundational work. If someone happens to find it, and something doesn't work correctly, nothing in Firefox is broken. Low risk to brand.

Verified - Fixed in latest Nightly 81.0a1 (2020-08-19) and 80 RC (build id: 20200817172600), I am not able to re-join a study for now. Based on the eng team answer: This is expected, there will be a way to re-join studies but the default will be that they when they are ended either by the server or the client they cannot be re-joined.
