Too bad that bugzilla doesn't allow circular dependencies, I'd have to add this
bug as blocker for this bug.
Sorry to the people at bug 97956 for spamming them. The rest deserves it.

Why is this is Mozilla and not a Bugzilla bug?
Consequently, I don't understand why this bug depends on bug 92997, bug 163993,
and bug 164421.

Because it is my opinion that bugs 92997, 163993, 164421 are a really bad idea,
given how bugzilla correctly works (incl., but not limited to, bug 97956).
Consequently, I think that these tracking bugs are bugs (problems) themselves.
This bugs tracks such bugs.

I do not understand the opposition to advocacy bugs. Many, many bugs have been
in the books for eons and are due to be fixed. Some of these bugs need to be
addressed. I understand that this is a free project with plenty of freelance
programmers working on it in their spare time, and I should be grateful for
what I have as a browser (which I am very grateful for). But, there are
certain bugs that need to be put into the limelight, in bold print, so that
Mozilla will become the best browser it can possibly be.
(Why are there still open 4-digit bugs after four years worth of work?)

> I do not understand the opposition to advocacy bugs.
Because the people who are already cced on the linked bug (which tend to be
*lots* of people) are already aware of it and get spammed unnecessarily.
What makes this spam worse is bug 97956, but it would be annoying even without it.
Make a webpage, that spams nobody. Neither will change much, though - most
developers ignore votes, and even more so the advocacy bugs.

Removing dependecies, you can't create a tracking bug to track other tracking
bugs. Vote for them if you want to keep a list of bugs that you want fixed.
Please resolve this bug as invalid.

Exactly. That's what *this* bug is all about - to get rid of silly tracking bugs.

Tracking bugs are no longer en vogue, luckily, so this is indeed fixed.
