[rfe] add pref for "auto fcc to current folder when replying to a message in a
folder"

here's my motivation:

I've got all these filters set up. When I reply, I frequently do filtered
mail, I frequently do "Options | Send a Copy To | ..." and pick the current
folder, to keep the whole thread together.

We could automate this with a pref, that when enabled, when I reply to mail
(not in my inbox, although that would be the same as bcc self, right?), a copy
of the message I'm sending would automatically go to the current folder.

some related questions and possible bugs:

1) should we change the UI and behavior of "send a copy to" be "send an
additional copy to", and also fcc the sent folder (if the user has prefs for
that)? or change the UI to make it clear that if you do send copy to, it won't
fcc the sent folder. (if your prefs are set for it.)

2) does "send a copy to" work if I do send later?
also, we could have a pref (or use the same pref) to auto fcc to the current
folder if we hit the new mail button, while in a given folder.
taking all of varada's bugs.

Is this a dup of bug 65113

Eudora has this feature. It's very useful.
So I take it the preferred behaviour is to fcc the normal fcc folder, *and* the
current folder? actually, it looks like Sent a Copy To works that way anyway. So
the pref would just auto-fcc the current folder, as long as it wasn't the
existing fcc folder? This would be pretty easy...

No, just the current folder.

I would prefere an option at the "copy and folders" tab in the account settings:
"Save Reply to original"

what can I do to get this feature in TB 1.1?

Is here someone who can give some feedback about implementation of this feature?
What's about implementing it in TB?

A couple of comments:

1) Pine can associate fcc's to addressbook entries.
2) Also pine has a plethora of options, like

default-fcc
last-fcc-used
by-nick-then-recip

etc

although they don't have the one which seems the most useful

by-fcc-of-recip-then-nick-then.....

Jens, this is a core bug, while 301084 is only TB.
Felix: it should have been changed to core, as the patch in fact affects tb and sm.
