Howdy, Whenever I try to compose an email using my Yahoo! Mail account the browser gets into some sort of refresh loop, which I can only stop by hitting the "Stop" button or closing the tab/window. I am running Windows XP on a Transmeta based laptop. The version of Mozilla I am using is: Mozilla 1.1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.1) Gecko/20020826 I have BannerBlind and the following Java plug-ins: 1) File name: NPJava11.dll Java Plug-in 1.4.0_01 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-java-applet;version=1.1.1 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.1.1 JavaBeans Yes application/x-java-applet;version=1.1 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.1 JavaBeans Yes application/x-java-applet Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean JavaBeans Yes 2) File name: NPJava12.dll Java Plug-in 1.4.0_01 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-java-applet;version=1.2 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.2 JavaBeans Yes application/x-java-applet;version=1.1.3 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.1.3 JavaBeans Yes application/x-java-applet;version=1.1.2 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.1.2 JavaBeans Yes 3) File name: NPJava13.dll Java Plug-in 1.4.0_01 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-java-applet;version=1.3.1 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.3.1 JavaBeans Yes application/x-java-applet;version=1.4 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.4 JavaBeans Yes 4) File name: NPJava32.dll Java Plug-in 1.4.0_01 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-java-applet;version=1.3 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.3 JavaBeans Yes application/x-java-applet;version=1.2.2 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.2.2 JavaBeans Yes application/x-java-applet;version=1.2.1 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;version=1.2.1 JavaBeans Yes 5) File name: NPJPI140_01.dll Java Plug-in 1.4.0_01 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.4.0_01 Java Applet Yes application/x-java-bean;jpi-version=1.4.0_01 JavaBeans Yes 6) File name: NPOJI610.dll Java Plug-in 1.4.0_01 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper) MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled application/x-java-vm Java Virtual Machine for Netscape 6.x Yes I have other plug-ins installed but I figure that the Java plug-ins are the only relevent ones because I'm guessing Yahoo! Mail uses a fair amount of Java. Java is enabled on my Preferences. When I originally installed Mozilla, I did not have this problem. I was fiddling around with the Preferences before this problem occurred (I don't remember what I did, or I would have fixed it), but even if I did set some parameter that I shouldn't have, the browser should not react in such a violent way. There should at least be a button in the Preferences GUI that restores all defaults. As you can probably tell, I am not a programming expert so the only help I can give you is to communicate what settings, plug-ins, etc. I have set. Thanks in advance.
Hello again. Immediately after filing this bug, I realized what I had done to cause this problem. I had disabled Java from being able to read my cookies, which I now know Yahoo! Mail needs. Unfortunately, I don't think this closes the bug because the browser should not react in the manner it does. I've downgraded the priority of this bug to trivial though. Thanks.

-> invalid The JS in the yahoo page cause a refresh if it can't rerad the cookie. We can't do anything in this case

Isn't this really an enhancement request for Yahoo not to require cookies for mail? I use Yahoo mail every day on multiple branch and trunk builds with cookies enabled and have no problems. Unless I am misinterpreting these bug reports, it would be best if you email Yahoo customer support to say that you want them to offer an option to turn off cookies. I am marking this invalid, from an evangelism perspective as this was a choice made by Yahoo in developing this product. If you find that in IE you *can* use mail without cookies that's a different matter, and please tell me to reopen if so.
