Steps to reproduce:
new message received, "inbox" in folder list shows (1), no new message in message list.
Actual results:
No new message appears in message list
Expected results:
new message should appear.

We're talking about the little bubble next to the folder name in folder pane, which indicates the number of unread messages in the folder (let's not use new because that's different).

Indeed. This also reminds me of bug 1823124, comment 0:
when I bring TB back to the foreground, I find Y (with Y<X) messages arrived after A, marked as read although I've never read them.
But then, actually unread messages should still keep in sync with the bubble count on the folder, so maybe not.

I see this problem all the time on 112b4 and I'm using gmail.
It seems like it checks IMAP folder and get noticed there are new messages but doesn't download these messages until you select that folder.
I'm not sure if it's relevant but I have mail.server.default.check_all_folders_for_new=true
TB 113.0b1 Win 11 64 bit "bubble" unread count not working at all. No count shows at tool bar icon.
