User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0
Steps to reproduce:
Manually updated to 115 on a Win10 Home PC.
When in Unified view of the accounts/folders list, my IMAP account does not show the subfolders of Inbox, only the top-level folders of Inbox, Trash, Junk, etc.
Additionally, Unified Junk is not showing two of my three GMail account junk folders.
When I switch to All Folders and turn OFF Unified, I can see all my folders in my IMAP and three GMail accounts.
On request, more info can be provided. Logs, etc, I may need instruction on how to get.
Actual results:
See above
Expected results:
Unified Folders should show all subfolders like 102 and older does, top level as Unified and then everything else in the account specific groupings.

Who is the mail provider of that account that is not showing subfolders?
Additionally, Unified Junk is not showing two of my three GMail account junk folders.
Are you still seeing this with 115.2 ?

IMAP provider is pair.com, server address is gordol.mail.pairserver.com
I have reverted to 102 and do not intend to re-update until forced, unless I find a replacement mail client before that. Also, I moved the Inbox subfolders to top level.

To be clear, in 102 your experience is all messages of all Inbox subfolders is shown in the Unified Inbox, correct?

No. In 102, "Unified Inbox" shows the Inbox itself as a Unified item, and its subfolders in the account-specific listing.
115 was not showing the subfolders at all.

I can at least confirm this is a bug. The folders should be shown somewhere if you've chosen not to display them inside the inbox (which is where they should be, by default, and you can change by going to the properties of the top-level unified inbox folder).

If the user wants the unified inbox to not search subfolders, they should still be displayed in the folder tree.

Bug 1847401 - Display un-searched folders that are descendants of searched folders. r=#thunderbird-front-end-reviewersIf the user wants the unified inbox to not search subfolders, they should still be displayed in the folder tree.
Issue isn't search/not search. Issue is the Inbox subfolders are not shown in 115 at all when "unified" is the selected layout. Inbox subfolders only show when "Unified" is not the selected layout view. All folders are "subscribed". The only way to have all folders visible in Unified is to move them out from the Inbox and into their own top level folder. They can be subfolders from there and show.

It is the issue though. If subfolders of your inbox were included in the search, they would be displayed in the unified section of the folder tree, as subfolders of the inbox. If they're not included in the search, they should be shown below (but they're not, which is what I've attempted to fix).
(Subfolders were not included in the search by default until 115, but you can now choose whether or not they're included in the search by opening the properties of the unified inbox.)

Approved for esr115 - although we haven't been adequate on beta, this has a test. If the patch borks beta then we still have time to adjust the 115 build
