Details
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1766196 +++
Steps to reproduce:
I try to save a fullscreen picture from firefox by pressing "Ctrl-S"
Actual results:
The dialog opens, lists the files, but pressing save or cancel does not do anythng. The only solution is to "killall firefox" in a terminal.
Expected results:
Image should be save when pressing "Save", and dialog closed. Dialog should just close on cancel
System
Ubuntu 23.04 x64 with Wayland graphics (Iris Xe, i915)
snapd/2.60.2 (series 16; classic) ubuntu/23.04 (amd64) linux/6.2.0-27-generic.

I was able to fix the problem by
sudo dpkg --purge --force depends xdg-desktop-portal xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
sudo apt install xdg-desktop-portal xdg-desktop-portal-gtk
The two packages were installed before. Reinstalling did not work. Don't know if uninstall and install would have worked; purge and install did work.
I don't have console output before purge/reinstall of the two packages, unless the log is saved somewhere.

if purge/install fixes, it's a distro issue completely ...

The product::component has been changed since the backlog priority was decided, so we're resetting it.
