Steps to reproduce:
I have reported a very similar problem a while ago, which got resolved (bug 1679574). Trying to use TB right after computer sleep, the application stalls repeatedly, and the only solution is to quit and restart TB. On a frequent basis this is quite annoying. Steps to reproduce:
- run TB, get new messages, etc. (all is fine)
- put the computer to sleep w/o quitting TB
- get the computer out of sleep
- in the main window select get new messages
Actual results:
TB stalls, shows a revolving / rotating icon as if it was waiting for a network connection (which is there). TB does not solve or pick-up the problem. It stays in this mode indefinitely.
Expected results:
TB should see that the network connection is present and working. If it's hung up it should be able to stop and restart it's network requests, connect to the mail server(s) and resume normal operation.
I would like confirm that the problem persists in Thunderbird 115.3.3 (64-bit) for macos, only that it happens even more frequently .
For a user who keeps TB open over the day, and who's computer (of course) goes to sleep because it is running on battery power, this means that TB has to be restarted several times a day, if not one or twice an hour.
Also like to add that the length of time, for how long the computer is on sleep doesn't matter.

ajay,
Does this still reproduce for you in version 128?
Please let us know.
it has ocurred pretty much every days since reported,
last today on TB v115.16.2
what is v128 ? a dev version ?
I thought v115 was the latest release for macos
now I see, sorry. TB has only offered my updates within v115 lately, I missed the updates
available on https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/ and didn't see that TB was way beyond
v115. Will download v133 tonight and report tomorrow.
Thanks for asking and your patience

You don't want to be using 133. That's a different path. If Help > About is not giving you 128, then get it from https://thunderbird.net/download

(forgot) if you are using macOS 10.14 or older than you can't use 128.
https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/128.0esr/system-requirements/
I am on Monterey 12.7.6, installed 128.0esr this morning, and I can confirm that the problem is gone.
(greetings from a regular donor of TB ;)
