Threaded sorting not persisted + restored on restart

Steps to reproduce:
Thunderbird 115.3.2 on Xubuntu 22.04 LTS
Alt > View > Sort by > Unthreaded
Changes the emails in the current folder to unthreaded view
Exit Thunderbird
Actual results:
When Thunderbird is started again, it defaults to Threaded view (which I find unusable).
Expected results:
Selecting Sort by > Unthreaded needs to be made persistent, and to be included to be transferred to all folders: Right click on column headers > Apply current view to... > Folder and its children > Local folders > Local Folders.
(sorry I cannot find details of how to obtain the agent string).

It's normally persisted. You'll have to track down file permission or other issues on your system. Try Help | Troubleshoot mode
Can confirm: the selection of Sort by -> Unthreaded isn't saved.
File permission are correct.
As soon as you restart TB, it's back to threaded.
It's the same for my installation (TB 115.4.1, Ubuntu 22.04)
There's obviously a bug that doesn't store that setting.
In my case everything was unthreaded until I followed the recommendation to compact my Inbox.
Afterwards the folder was set to threaded and can't be set back to unthreaded anymore.
That's why I came here to search for a similar and it seems like I'm not alone.
Duplicate report: bug 1858917
Report about compaction being the cause: bug 1791437

Thank you, now fixed in TB 115.5.0
You have to set it under View / Sort by / Unthreaded for each folder, Right Click on column headers / Apply current view / ... does not carry this setting to other folders.

Thank you, now fixed in TB 115.5.0
I don't know what would have fixed this in 115.5.0 - no threading fixes in that release. So let's close this WORKSFORME.
For anyone still seeing this problem, please see Bug 1725127 - Inbox randomly reverts to default view or file a new bug report
