Steps to reproduce:

Open any website

Actual results:

The page loads. As soon as i start scrolling, the content view starts flickering. When i stop scrolling, the view is black.
This happens mostly when battery is less than 20%

Expected results:

No flickering

yes, it is for Fenix.
Some updates:
I do not think it is specifically related to power management. I have seen this even with high battery levels. Unfortunately there is no specific workflow to trigger this.

Same thing happening on my Samsung Galaxy S22 (EU - Exynos CPU version).
This mostly happens when opening TikTok videos, screen starts crazily flickering.
If I minimize Firefox and open it again (or kill), the webpage appears empty and does not load upon refreshing.

P.S. after updating to Android 14 (OneUI 6.0) I've performed full factory reset so we can rule out upgrade issues

I was able to reproduce this issue once on the latest Nightly 122.0a1 (2023-12-11) with Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (Android 14).
It was not reproducible anymore after a clear data.

Hi,
Since the issue happens randomly, I was waiting for it to reoccur to see if I can get some logs. And then a funny thing happened. I opened the link to this ticket from my gmail app. I have set it to open all links in default browser instead of in the app. The link opened fine in firefox. As soon as I started scrolling, the flickering started and the screen turned black when I stopped.
I open another tab to go to about:support, but the same thing happened. But I was able to print the page as a PDF. I have attached the PDF.

This has happened 2 times for me now. In the morning, when I open the link to this bug via email, the crash happens. And this is the first instance of opening the browser for the day.

BTW, my issue is slightly different than the one in the video. My flickering starts when I start scrolling. Before that the page loads fine. Once I stop scrolling the page turns black. If I resume scrolling, I see flickering again. This happens with all subsequent tabs. The only way to fix is to close firefox from the running apps screen.

The timestamps on all of those crashes are really old. I suspect they're not related.

Just to add to this:
This also happens on my Samsung S21 Ultra (SM-G998B/DS) with OneUI 5.1

Tried a bunch of things:

• Reinstalling OS
• Refresh rate from 120 to 60hz and even 30hz using an app
• Brightness high/low -- Adaptive/non-adaptive
• Also happens in other Firefox-based browsers like Mull

What makes it worse is that the flickering keeps on happening until I actually Shut down the app completely, otherwise it would keep flickering regardless if it's in the fore- or background.

Interestingly I did not experience this bug on my previous phone, fully updated Samsung Galaxy S22.

As with other users, force closing the app temporarily fixes the problem.

Sorry for the late reply, I have tested the latest version but unfortunately seems to have the same issues on my phone. After 30 minutes of use it seemed to be working fine for a bit and then at some point it started happening again.

Ben's profile shows that software webrender was running, which is more evidence that what we're seeing on the S24 is the same driver bug as bug 1869569, and will be fixed by bug 1879105. What that doesn't explain however, is why cosplayking's S21 is affected.

Thanks very much. I can see you have an S24 ultra which has an Adreno 750 GPU, which means you are encountering a different issue than the one we fixed in this bug. I filed bug 1893424 to track that
