Catastrophic issue with Thunderbird after updating to Sequoia. Thunderbird won't launch at all - OS reports the app is "damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Bin."

Binned as instructed and re-downloaded. TB 128.3.0esr (64-bit) now loaded okay and appears to be working correctly.

good call. It is interesting because I haven't seen anyone report that it stopped working after installing Sequoia - so the question I have is, was Thunderbird properly installed to begin with? You weren't running a super old THunderbird?

This is most likely bug 1799332, which was fixed in Firefox. I see that there is bug 1851948 open for Thunderbird, which could be fixed by porting a form of bug 1799332 over.

Bug 1799332 was already ported to Thunderbird in bug 1870378. It landed in Milestone 125 (February 2024). Bug 1851948 predates that.
