I have verified this enhancement using the steps from here and I can confirm the following:
- The wallpaper feature highlight is no longer displayed after interaction with the "Got it" or the "X" buttons.
- The wallpaper feature highlight is no longer displayed after a wallpaper is set.
- The wallpaper is dismissed if a click action is performed anywhere on the New Tab page.
Verified using the latest Firefox Nightly 128.0a1 (Build ID: 20240606092816) installed on Windows 10 x64, macOS 14.1.1, and Ubuntu 22.04 x64.
That being said during the verification we observed that the wallpaper feature highlight is displayed four times instead of three, however, I've logged a separate issue for this behavior. You can find it here: Bug 1901026.
