User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/126.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
I run thunderbird
Actual results:
The application opens but the doc shows a generic icon which can't be pinned
Expected results:
Dock should show a Thunderbird Beta icon.
Additional Info. This is running on Ubuntu 24.04. I am not using the snap version nor is any snap version installed. I have followed the instructions in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-thunderbird-linux for creating and editing the thunderbird.desktop file. I would also want to indicate a bug in that document. It wgets the standard thunderbird.desktop file into ~/.local/bin/thunderbird, but then uses sed scripts to edit it in .local/share/applications/thunderbird.desktop. I put the edited desktop file in both places just to be sure. Still no icon in the dock.

Hello,
I have managed to reproduce this issue using Ubuntu 24 with 128.0esr(20240710185639) , 115.13.0(20240715172621) and 130(20240709104114).
It is worth mentioning that I reproduce this issue with all the builds downloaded from https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/candidates/.
However if I launch the 128esr that came pre-installed with the Ubuntu 24, the icon is displayed without any issues as it can be observed in the attached image.

km,
Do you see this in 128.1.0 or newer? It it is gone, then likely fixed by bug 1904390
