Hi,

As per attached, after the Convert To feature had been missing for a while from the message context menu UI, it seems to have returned in TB 128 beta (possibly earlier version but just noticed today) but it has now been buried in an Organisation sub-menu... requiring navigating 4 levels to reach the Convert To Event/Task feature in addition of the right click to open the menu.

While the goal to declutter Thunderbird is good, it should not be to the detriment of advanced end-users. I used quite often the Convert To feature and it is now really annoying to reach that feature via the context menu to convert an email into an event.

The Archive and Convert To feature shall remain directly accessible in the message context menu UI at the first level. It is completely useless to burry those in a sub-menu and is counter productive from a discoverability and usability point of view. It create more burden and cognitive steps that are not necessary.

You could simply isolate those in they own section in the contact menu instead...

Hope you would take this feedback into consideration because it is a usability regression in comparison to earlier version of Thunderbird.

This bug may be a re-appearance of an earlier one: 1817705.

I would like to second the reporter's comments. The ability to convert emails to events or tasks easily is an important feature of an app like TB that integrates mailer, tasks manager, and calendar.

It would be good not only to have these commands return to the context menu, but also to have them accessible from the pull-down menu bar menus—for one thing so that Mac users can easily assign keyboard shortcuts to them via System Preferences.

That "Convert to" is a submenu is rather awkward. The upper menu only has two items (Archive and Convert to) so having these two on that one instead would be better IMHO.

One of the most common things I do it select e-mails, right click and hit "H" to archive. Recently my distribution upgraded to Thunderbird 128.3.1esr gentoo-1.0 and now this keyboard shortcut can't be used. Archive is now under Organize, and although "h" is still underlined within the submenu, there is no shortcut or Organize. So you now have to go to it with a mouse in order to use the keyboard shortcut for archive. I don't have any issue with needing to hit two keys instead of one, but at the very least, Organize needs a keyboard shortcut.
