I've been trying to recreate this first part all morning now, but I cannot. It's
not an anomally, I just wasn't looking at the right monitor when I clicked.
Somehow (see above) I managed to add the Personal Toolbar Folder to the toolbar
that shows the bookmarks within the Personal Toolbar Folder.
I went to Manage Bookmarks, but everytime I tried to open the top-level Personal
Toolbar Folder, Mozilla crashed. The second time I tried to open the Personal
Toolbar Folder, Mozilla crashed and all my bookmarks except the Personal Toolbar
Folder without the child Personal Toolbar Folder were missing (deleted).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add the Personal Toolbar Folder to the Personal Toolbar
2. Go to Manage Bookmarks
3. Click on the arrow next to the Personal Toolbar Folder to open it
Actual Results:
Crash! Second time it deleted most of my bookmarks.
Expected Results:
Well, two things:
1. The Personal Toolbar Folder should not be able to exist in two places, let
alone within itself.
2. Mozilla should not have crashed when I tried to open the Personal Toolbar Folder.

likely duplicate of bug 97424 (bug 11682 -> bug 113554 -> bug 97424)
97424 was fixed on the NETSCAPE_7_0_OEM_BRANCH on 2002-09-03.
Unclear whether it was checked into the trunk?

I wouldn't exactly say it was a dupe. This bug doesn't say which the PTF was
inside the PTF in the first place. In my case (bug 192321) it just appeared
there after an upgrade to a nightly build. I didn't get any of this crashing.

Still a problem with latest nightlies, experienced it on 20030303 1.3b build.
I now have no personal toolbar as it was recursing in itself so i deleted the
child which then seemded to have deleted the parent as well.
As comment #1 says: It is related to 113554, which has been market as a dupe of
97424, which strangely this bug is not related too.
I havent experienced any crashes, but I do not have a presonal toolbar anymore.
So how do i then restore it? it does not let me add any to it anymore.
Ive put the latest 1.4a 20030306 on to see if i can remedy it. starting with a
new bookmark file didnt do the trick.

Copied an old bookmark.html and my profile was okay again.
This bug created a 6MB bookmark.html as I presume it was looping on the personal
bookmark folder forever or untill it gave up.

The addition of Personal Toolbar itself in the Personal Toolbar can be
reproduced on Mozilla 1.3 as follows (tested on Win2k):
1. Move mouse over empty area at the right of the personal toolbar.
2. Push down left mouse button and start dragging to left.
3. Mouse cursor will change first to "unavailable" cursor.
Keep on moving to close of the rightmost folder in the personal toolbar.
Mouse cursor will change to a arrow with a grey box, and there will appear
a vertical line indicating that a new folder is about to be added in the
personal toolbar.
4. Release the left mouse button, and a new personal toolbar folder will
appear in the personal toolbar.
I have also noticed that the personal toolbar cannot be deleted using the
"Manage bookmarks" feature - it just crashes. The folder can be deleted
manually by editing the bookmarks.html.

Tested on 1.4b Win2k, cannot anymore create the "Personal Toolbar" folder inside
itself in the same way I described above.
