Use Headphones (3.5mm audio jack is what I have)
Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GO1hld6_pLE
Start the video
Once a few seconds have elapsed adn you can see part of the video has buffered.
Disconnect the headphone

AR: the video starts "buffering" (that is, it shows those dreaded spinning circles)
ER: Not so

Summary: Youtube video starts "buffering" when I remove Headphones → All videos (playing locally and streaming) stop playing if I remove the headphones while the video is playing

This doesn't occur for me on Linux stable or nightly, though I believe I run into a similar bug on Windows stable disconnecting/reconnecting Bluetooth headphones. Windows nightly fixes the Bluetooth issue on my side, but I haven't been able to test with a wired connection. :kinetik, would you have any ideas here?

From the profile, we can see the audio clock stopped forwarding at the certain point, which might be the time the reporter unplugged his headphone.

See here, the audio sink stuck at the position 50.597249, because the audio IPC stopped popping frames between 8.955s and 11.593s.

Might be fixed by bug 2011578, worth retesting in a current Nightly build.

This is fixed on the latest Nightly. Thanks!

I can reproduce this issue on Windows 11 with Firefox 135.0a1 (2024-12-14) using BT Redmi Buds 5 Pro and TRRS headphones by following the steps from comment 0.
I can also confirm that the issue is no longer reproducible with Firefox 154.0a1 (2026-07-01) and 153.0b7 on Windows 11 using BT Redmi Buds 5 Pro and TRRS headphones, and on Ubuntu 26 and macOS 26 using BT Redmi Buds 5 Pro, by following the steps from comment 0.
