In the feed, I want to be viewing the "content:encoded" not the "description" section. I don't see anywhere that I can change the settings for this.
Reproducible: Always
Related to/duplicate of bug 323616 and/or bug 264053?

Possibly related, but I am viewing it as Original HTML.

It may well be that TB ignores the 'content' part of the feed. Do you have a pointer to an RFC or other spec that indicates that 'content' should take precedence over 'description'? Or perhaps the problem is with 'encoded'.
CC'ing Robert, who knows a lot about this stuff.

It doesn't seem to be mentioned in the spec. I think the problem is that the behaviour changed between Thunderbird 1.0.7 and 1.5 so it broke all of my feeds suddenly.

The spec doesn't mention which should be used, but from reading the Wordpress blog, http://matt.wordpress.com/2005/10/31/scoble-sucks/ it seems like all of the other feed readers use the content:encoded section.

The other confusion is probably related to aggregators that read the description element but ignore content:encoded. Now I must admit here I can’t find an aggregator that does that, and if you read the comments on Scoble’s entry it’s a bunch of people saying it works fine for them. In every aggregator I have access to — Bloglines, FeedDemon, NetNewsWire, Newsgator, Onfolio, Rojo, FeedLounge — everything works fine, but we can’t test everything so if anyone finds an aggregator it doesn’t work please let me know and I’ll look into it.
