This is moved from bug 111428. # bug 111428 was used for bug 112533. If there are the favorites that having non-system default code page's characters, it's failed to import to bookmarks.
Note that firefox version of this bug is bug 174734

Can anybody test a recent trunk build of seamonkey? This must have been fixed thanks to the patch for bug 162361 unless there's a bug down the road in the migration code
This was indeed fixed in both FF 2.0 and trunk.
