I very dislike default current scheme for directories placing (at least, because this makes pathes, which are longer that 67 characters even in short file names mode), so I always move account directories into another places. But there is no possibility to specify directory for account files when account is created and TB doesn't moves account files, when field Local Directory in "Tools / Account options / Server parameters / Local directory" is changed (even if new directory is empty).
Reproducible: Always
Expected Results:
TB should ask "Move account files into new directory?" and, probably, should clean target directory, when answered "yes".

The more so, while I not restart Thunderbird, it tries to work for some files in old place (thus, causing wrong groups handling after restart).
Summary: Changing Local Directory field in account preferences, then real directory contnt not moved → Changing Local Directory field in account preferences, then real directory content not moved

That's bug 2654.

This would be fine but I think quite hard as TB is using the files (mbox and .msf) in the Local Directory while the account manager is open. I don't know how it would safely release them and then start using them in the new location. As bug 2654 says, currently TB can only pickup a new location at restart time.
Depends on: 2654
