I believe that part of this functionality is covered in another bug that
putterman owns.

Are you sure that this Target Milestone is Future? Shouldn't this be in nsbeta3?

Thanks, Seth, I saw this bug when searching for the DUP of bug 68152, and it
threw me off because of the summary.
Suggest OS=ALL
yes, this is XP.
OS: Windows NT → All
Hardware: PC → All
Is this WFM? If not, I'll fix it when I'm done with my two other news-bugs.
Today's 0.9.4 commercial build doesn't select the group, tried accessing url
from various places.

Nominating this because I'm told it's needed for shared folders.

sorry, I should expand on this - while getting clicking on links to imap folders
to work, I fixed this too.
David, this works really well, but when a mailnews window is already open, we
spawn an additional mailnews window. Should I log this as a separate bug, or
re-open to cover this case (this also happens for expired message clearing).
it's a bit by design - we don't really know what kind of window is open, so we
spawn a new one. Figuring out that there's a 3-pane window open and using it, we
left for later.

Aside from comment 21 and comment 22, this bug is Verified FIXED (with a few
minor edge cases, most of them dealing with strange datasource states with the
account manager - removing and readding a newsgroup without hitting OK in there).

Windows 2000 - 2002-03-07-04
Mac OS X 10.1.3 - 2002-03-07-08
Linux RedHat 7.2 - 2002-03-07-08

Actually, we're not 4.x parity as it stands now (at least not on Win32). (I'll
file on this).

Also of note is the 'default NNTP server' issue that Laurel filed in bug bug
16343. That affects news:netscape.public.mozilla.mail-news (which would
normally find the default server and add/focus that newsgroup). Currently, it
adds that newsgroup to the 1st server added, known bug.

There are a few small issues that I'll be filing separately, so as not to cloud
this bug.

All - I've filed bug 129574 to cover both autosubscribe and expired article 'new
