I like Firefox but not Thunderbird.  I want to uninstall Thunderbird, but when I go to add or remove programs and uninstall Thunderbird, the window just freezes. And then I went to the Mozilla folder on my computer and clicked the uninstall Thunderbird icon, and it just sat there with a little hourglass icon for a minute, then did nothing.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to control panel and click Mozilla Thunderbird
2.Click uninstall.
3.
Actual Results:  
Window froze. Then becomes unfrozen and still does nothing.

Expected Results:  
Uninstalled Thunderbird.
Tried running uninst.exe (found somewhere in the tb program folder) manually? Dupe of bug 346651?

Yes, I did that, but it still does nothing

Why did you change this to wontfix? Though if it sounds like a dupe, mark it as that... (wontfix means "this is something we choose not to fix")

Hello, 
Yesterday, I was trying to uninstall Thunderbird 1.5.0.10 and then could not. I've been searching for a manual step-by-step manual uninstall procedure of installed files. Now, I'm searching for bug created/open/reported on failing to uninstall.
If this is a widespread problem, then it certainly should stop calls to upgrade to 2.0. Let's stay calm ... as maybe there is something to do here. 
Several bugs have the same description, same steps
to reproduce, same Thunderbird rv (1.5.0.x branch) version and same external
symptoms (hang, non-responsive uninstall.exe): bug 335458, bug 337937, bug
365954, bug 373980. Some other bugs are unclear, possibly duplicates too: bug 323059, etc.
Also bug 346651
